3Dmark11 score with both cards is P13560 - http://3dmark.com/3dm11/3548537

I noticed that for the 7950 it shows "Generic VGA" - does anyone know is this is normal?

Decided to try a second 7970 to see how much difference it would make
The 3dm11 score was P13991 - http://3dmark.com/3dm11/3562630

Not as much of an improvement as I expected

Neat build, but why did you choose the 3960x over a 2500/2600K? Just wondering.

I got the 3960x and the motherboard given to me by a friend, so it was a pretty easy decision. smile.gif

When I am playing BF3 my primary 7970 runs at about 82c, so I thought it would be a good idea to add a couple fans to the side door and help exhaust some of the hot air from the case. I picked up a few of the Corsair AF120's recently so I put them in:
400

I would have liked to be able to hide the cable running into the door better - this is what it currently looks like:
700

I do like that Corsair ships these fans with different colored rings to make it easy to match your build

Ran some benchmarks recently, here are the results:

Heaven:

3DMark11:
http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/4304978
Score of P14746

This is with the 12.8 drivers which provide a better result than the P13991 than I got before using the 12.6. GPUs are both clocked at 1100/1450 and CPU was at stock clock

Yeah - it was. They are pre-production evaluation units, but still work great so I am happy tongue.gif

The DX79SI doesn't seem like it is great for overclocking though - I was tweaking it a bit recently and it seems like 4.2 is the sweet spot as anything higher and it hasn't been 100% stable.

I re-ran Heaven with the CPU at 4.2 and it didn't make much difference in the result:

2247 vs. 2236 when at stock

Also, I find my CPU runs a little hot when under full load at 4.2 so I am planning to upgrade my cooler soon. Also considering replacing my Ram at some point too
