The report is of their paying subs.

They had over 2m people that were given 1 month when the free month/week was given.

There are 1.3 active PAYING customers after that month which, is what the report says.

THIS. Almost every MMO since WoW has done one thing and done it well...failed to become WoW. TOR still thinks it can get it done but has proven that isnt the case. They are going to make decent cash off of the game for probably 2+ years from now. Whether that involves increased subs is anyones guess.

I'd say the general issue is not the game but the players. Everyone has either experience WoW or another of the major MMOs and the general concept of the game has burned people out one way or another.

Ah I see, thanks for the correction. I don't know why I read that wrong to begin with.

One thing to take into account, is that some MMOs require a credit-card to sign-up for the free month, and they will opt you in for a per-month subscription unless you opt out. It is somewhat common to see all of those that didn't realize this, end up cancelling during that first paid month.

I'm not surprised. I am one of them too. I quit long time ago. Figured it wasn't worth spending 15 a month and the repeated missions were boring. Nothing was too exciting. They really need to improve MMO games a bit better than doing the same thing over and over. I honestly still think they would rake in more MONEY if they EVER did Jedi Knight series collection instead. You and i KNOW that game is STILL popular since back the day of Jedi Knight series. Give us a new engine, new story and new characters or new villians. Perhaps same ones too. New fighting styles and improved animations. You got yourself a HUGE franchise!thumb.gif

Heck i still wish they made a new Indiana Jones PC game.

I used to be in a Jedi Academy clan lol. The lightsaber battle mechanics were surprisingly/deceptively deep with the different types of staff, and different swing strengths..........good times lol

Their skills suck but that's pretty much how it was.

It actually really would be cool to see what they could do with a modern engine.

Willing to give TERA a go but since it's a) Korean and b) Subscription-based......I will most probably regret it. Badly.

It gets really good around level 20, Slayer and Sorcerer seem like the classes that are most fun, the story is boring until around level 30 then it gets semi-interesting, and the cut scenes are horrible I laugh at how bad they are. Some things to note before you get into it thumb.gif I am only 38 but there are some people at cap or near cap already.

I did not feel a $15 a month MMO was warranted for a single player experience.

Bioware spent too much time on voice acting and single player story and forgot to have solid mechanics. The ability delay killed it for me.

SWTOR is the only MMO I got seriously bored with within a week.

Not to mention I don't really like Star Wars in the first place, but I gave it a try. It was shwit.
