Oh yeah you're the one who's convinced me my two 480s my two 580s and my 465 and zero AMD cards hates Nvidia.

Righto buddy. Or I just think it's dissapointing Nvidia locked down voltage and put out a bad power delivery system on their flagship card. That would be too logical though.

Also to the guy above me. I'm not talking about performance and didn't say a word about performance. Have fun playing 3dmark though I hear the fourth level in the jungle is awesome. Also I don't own a 7970.

Like I said, I could care less what clock speeds the 7970 can reach if it doesn't have the performance to back it up.

If my 680 @ ~1200 MHz can get 11.3K in 3DMark11 GPU score, and your 7970 @ 1250 MHz can barely get over 10K (http://3dmark.com/3dm11/3088340 ), then the 7970 is doing little more than wasting power from the wall outlet.

Like I said the fourth level of 3dmark in the jungle is my favorite. I thought I was going to get to ride the jeep for a crazy chase sequence but then I was like oh it's a synthetic benchmark.sadsmiley.gif

My 680 @ completely stock settings: 9953 GPU score:
sBL8i.png

Your 7970 at a max (or near-max) overclock of 1250 MHz: 10123 GPU score (http://3dmark.com/3dm11/3088340 )

So your 7970 at a max (or near-max) overclock is a whopping 1.7% faster than my pathetic, voltage-locked 680 at completely stock speeds. That extra voltage sure is doing a lot for your 7970, huh?

Being serious for one moment honestly I think the 680 is a bad precedent. I hope the 780 follows in the 580s footsteps rather then the 680s.

biggrin.gif That's awesome.

No, I know. I agree the paper specs look better for the 7970 because of the higher, and manual, voltage. But the 680 is quite power efficient, and stays so cool, it just seems incredibly undervolted. The non-reference cards will prove this and the 680 will officially take the crown. It's obvious, though I'm not saying anything you said is wrong. But the Zotac Supreme released the 680 that has manual voltage control up to 1.5v, and the 680 Classified will have up to 1.8v. These are amazing chips, Nvidia just didn't want to deal with all of the dead references apparently, like the 590s and early 570s of last generation that got bricked with higher voltages. Non-references are where the 680 is really going to shine. Again, nothing against you or AMD, just going on what I've read redface.gif

Opinions: noted and respected. Attitude: still childish.

Your just embarrassing yourself. Just settle down, your writing text to people who have very little to no real influence in your life. Go enjoy your two 480s, two 580s, your 465 and no AMD cards..

Who cares how highly 7970s can clock if they can't outperform the 680? It's like comparing a 5 GHz Bulldozer to a 4.8 GHz Core i7

Not my post, but eh why not. What 's up with all the mightier than thou stuff?

Acting just as harsh isn't going to show people how to correctly respond when disagreeing. These threads would go a lot more smooth if people did respond with a little more respect. Not saying anything against you, but he was trying to make a valid point. And it is kind of hard to call someone a fanboy when all they own is cards from the other manufacturer..

What's the graphics score on that? For comparrison, my best run, in my sig, is a 21466 graphics score. Just want to compare scaling and what not.
