Should i reinstall windows now with the V1.4 (R)elease (C)andidate or wait for the final version? Is the final version out yet? if not then then when should we expect it? If I install V1.4RC now will i have to install the final V1.4 later?

I'd wait until the release of the final version. Techreport is beta testing and they've had the drive drop out several times for no reason. OCZ sent them a fix and it still happened once.

The 4k QD is lots better in raid but does'nt improve the 4K read. The Vertex 4 Marvell has Sandforce like speeds but the Vertex 4 is still in it's beta and the next firmware might increases or drop but Plextor M3 Pro is past it's beta and a viable choice if in doubt.

Currently Vertex 4 holds the trump cards in performance and durability but reliability? at the moment due to reputation.
(Some might be cautious of OCZ and bsods but they only made half the firmware and the fault was with Sandforce for making the controller with limited firmware access and Sandforce ditched out and LSI brought them and since then bsod problems were resolved.)

All reliable SSDs are known to have Marvell controllers. OCZ is now using the latest controller with the reliable Marvell and that adds to their reputation as cautious risk takers.

They may have the trump cards in terms of performance, maybe.

Durability and reliability... I am not sure they know what that means.

Vertex 4 is actually somewhat on par with Crucial M4. Vertex 4 has weak points and scales differently compared to the old marvell controller:

In terms of price, performance and reliability; Crucial M4 is a favourite.

I would have to agree with the M4s, even tho Plextor is my Favorite
