What type of hdmi cable do i need?

Do monitors take the same hdmi cable as hdtv's?

yes the same cable can be used. hdmi cables are all the same.

Yep, I got mine for 6 bucks. Hooks up my laptop, ps3, monitor, tv. Long as it is not mini hdmi, micro hdmi or whatever else they've come up with these days.

Any hdmi cable should do. And don't be afraid to buy cheap ones. There is no quality loss with short cheap hdmi cables. A high quality cable is only needed if the cable is going to be long (like 10 feet +). I got some $5 rosewill HDMI cables from Newegg and they have worked great for me.

You need the cheap kind. Yep, the one that costs around 6$. Like posted above, you need a HDMI cable, not mini HDMI or anything else. It looks like that:

If you are paying more than $2 you are likely getting ripped off..try Ebay, any HDMI works. I have bought probably 50 HDMI cables all under $2 each and have yet to have a problem with any of them.
