Hello...Im in my quest for a SSD since my HDD die :/

so...I was looking for the cheapest 120/128GB SSD and this ADATA S510 Series looks like a great option

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820211588

120GB for 104$

the specs look great

few reviews but they are all good

the thing that worries me...is the SandForce controller..I have read a loy of bad stories with those class of SSD...

anyone have this drive ?? it is good ?? reliable ??

I'd add 20 - 25 more bucks and go for the Crucial M4... a bit more gigs, High reliability, much lesser fail rates than many other drives and it's just worth it!
For the sandforce drives I've had the Vertex 3 for 3 months now, not a single problem yet, but what you read by some people is really confusing.rolleyes.gif

Seems like a better choice, but it's also a sandforce drive.
Sandforce drives seems to resolve their issues overtime, they are much more stable than they used to be like a year ago.
It's a good buy but I'll still recommend the M4 over this though wink.gif

thanks

the thing is...I just cant expend more than 100$

and the 64GB M4, compared to the 128GB and 256GB ones looks overpriced...

writte speeds are very low too

I found this drive:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820226225

at 102$, amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/Mushkin-Chronos-2-5-Inch-Solid-MKNSSDCR120GB/dp/B005CGFU4I/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1336704334&sr=8-3

looks like a great SSD ?? any experiencies with it ??

The s510's from Adata are actually not too bad at all, i doubt you would regret buying one.
Next cheapest/reliable up the line would be the M4 which is pretty sweet, and the samsung 830's are pretty sweet too, i've had zero issues with mine, fast and work from day one.
The M4's go on sale for around $100 ish once a month. MIR though, if you dont mind waiting.
