Making a Corsair 650D as Silent as Possible?

I was wonder what are the best ways to silence this case?

I've done a little research and cutting out the front 200mm fan grill seems to help a lot. Will cutting the rear 120 fan grill help? What about for the top fan?

Sound dampening foam. Is it worth it? This stuff seems a bit pricey.

Maybe, replacing the stock fans?

Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

You could always purchase a silent case that has sound dampening foam already installed and low noise fans or cut out the fan grills and get some really silent fans. helpinghand.gif

Best way is to cut the front fan grill and get some better fans like replace the front and top 200 with the bitfenix spectre pro 200mm fan. I would also replace the back 120mm fan too probably with a 120mm bitfenix spectre pro. Would also attach the fans to a fan controller and turn them down to low.

I only have Noctuas in my Fractal Define R2 and I run them at low speed. Your best bet is to just lower your fan speeds using speedfan, and maybe invest in some quieter fans if you can afford to.

Yes, cutting the rear 120mm fan grill out does help reduce noise... makes your fan less restricted too. I replaced my rear 120mm fan with a Noctua fan and thought that would be it. A lil while later you kind of build a tolerance to how noisy your computer is and want to make it even more silent. After cutting out the rear grille with a dremel I did notice that a good amount of noise had reduced. I'd go for it, it defiantly is an easy mod that makes a difference! thumb.gif
