Now I'm wondering if I can return my HIS 7750 in exchange for a 7850. I bought it from Amazon (Amazon LLC sold it to me, not some 3rd party seller on amazon) so I'll have to check if it's doable. Also would a 7850 be overkill for an Athlon II x4?

Good news! I just got the power supply and installed it. So far everything is running smooth as can be where it would usually stall. As for games like Deus Ex I guess it wasn't the most stable overclock. Also the memory could definitely be upgraded, but that will be for another time.
I checked the old power supply and here are it's specs:

+3.3V 14A

+12V1 6A (what?! It has 2 12V rails? ***)

Good news! I just got the power supply and installed it. So far everything is running smooth as can be where it would usually stall. As for games like Deus Ex I guess it wasn't the most stable overclock. Also the memory could definitely be upgraded, but that will be for another time.

Bad news everyone. For no apparent reason the system froze in Firefox after I installed a new sd card reader, after which I rebooted and haven't been able to get back into Windows 7. I already tried system restore as well as unplugging all peripherals, including the card reader but it still gets stuck on the welcome screen. At least I can still boot into it in safe-mode but haven't been able to find the specific problem. I ran an error check on the hard drive and came up with nothing. At this point I think i may have to reinstall Windows though I would much rather not,considering how time consuming it would be to reinstall allow my programs.
