My new GTX680 sytem! <3 - Page 2

You said the word "Drill" and I cried 0.o
lol

I'll think about it but taking a pair of pliers to my case goes against all my logical thinking right now.
Cheers though.

Edit@ Do you have some pics of the drilled holes?

Looking good thumb.gif

One aesthetics suggestion:- the two PCIE power cables to the GTX680 are visible through the side panel window and they could be better hidden away (at least not be seen through the window). If the cables are long enough, perhaps do something like the pic below.

I'm not at home, so this is the best I can do for now until I am. The second pic sort of describes what I did the best I can show with paint and a touchpad.

Open the pic above in a new tab to get a larger view.

So you would drill two holes close together, and then bend the sharp pointy bits that are left behind the mobo tray. Not sure if that makes any sense to you or not, when I get some better pics of the backside of the mobo tray it will make more sense. On the left is before bending the pointy bits back, the right side is what the hole would look like afterwords.

I just plugged the sidefan in and all temps dropped, lol. GPU is at 27c idle and CPU is at 32c idle. Looking good tongue.gif

What a waste, such a nice card with that cpu tongue.gif Guess you know what your next upgrade will be!

Gratz on the card!

Also, I am with some of the other posters on the temp. 80c is a bit warm. I'd setup a custom fan profile--70 to 75% fan while under load should get your temps down quite a bit. I'd mess around with the profile until you find something that fits your setup, ambients, and how much noise you can handle. If I were you, I would adjust the fan profile until you're able to keep the temps in the high 60s under load. I use MSI afterburner for this, personally.

If you're still not able to get the temp down with a more aggressive fan profile, a reseat + new TIM may help. If you're still not happy after that, try throwing on an evga highflow bracket. I tossed an evga backplate + highflow bracket on both my 680s and it brought down my card temps a few C.
