I am considering a bigger SSD just trying to spend little money now on building this and yeah its lower reqs for D3 but my laptop wont handle it so if Im going to build a computer Im going to make sure it lasts a few years. Plus Im tempted to sell my xbox and play all my games on the pc most likely lol but we will see.
I run two 560Ti's (factory OCed) myself. It does perform mad.
I haven't look at benches against the 7970. So I'll take your word for it smile.gif SLI performance is very driver determined though.
Making a loop with 2 GPU's is costly though. But the reward is some epic looking rig.

And since you're going with the dual thing anyway. go dual SSD when you got the finances for it biggrin.gif

Good luck!

I'm really interested in seeing how this ends up, I'm at Ohio State right now, 4 weeks out from graduating! Go bucks!
Hope the rest of your deployment goes well, thanks for you service.
Sorry about your recruits tongue.gif
Actually, I'm going to wisc for grad school... but I'll always be a buckeye
Yes its a little far out but Im pretty set on the items and I am also interested in seeing how the prices drop between now and August. Especially on sandybridge. Thats my main reason I am waiting, afterall I want my system now but realistically I would settle for less with a smaller case and I dont want to do that. I will be sleeving and painting and all types of cool stuff to make this as Ohio State as I can so itll be worth seeing when all is said and done. Thanks everyone for thanking me I appreciate it truly. Oh last but not least.. O-H!

Put some consideration into the 7970. When drivers get updated I betcha' it will surpass the 560's. Plus you could crossfire at a later time. It may be me but I don't see much wrong with the PSU. I've always enjoyed OCZ products.
No problem its an honor to serve, I have put consideration into the 7970. It's a nice card but I am starting to lean towards the 580 now than I will eventually add another one for SLI. I like Nvidia because well Blizzard games are honestly built around them and im a huge blizzard fan beta tested all the games after diablo II. I own every game they have released though. I dont think the graphics card will be a easy decision for me as I want ULTRA now but I dont want overkill so I want to be able to upgrade down the line for when its needed. I plan on probably getting rid of my xbox and this will be my entire gaming rig for all my games. Maybe minus Halo lol. Ithought the PSU would provide enough power and OCZ products are decently made so i think its a good buy. Glad you agree!

I will add more SSD when the money permits 1 SSDw ill have to do for now. I do like SLI I had two 460s in SLI watercooled (Useless) but they performed extreemly well. (My family always complains cause I dont want anything for christmas ever so I am purposely not buying the watercooling stuff so I can tell them something I "want" this year lol sneaky eh? wink.gif

Waltercooling a SLI is not that useless. I'm currently doing mine (with "the mod") since the air coolers on them have to work very hard to keep the temps nice. It makes a whole lot of noise. But this depends on your case. If you have one with a nice big fan directly upon the GPU's things go better.

Either way. buying a 580 now and getting one later (maybe second hand for cheap. I see them for less then 300€ already over here) will make a hell of a setup. And it makes watercooling for much more at place.

And knowing exactly what you want for Christmas is nice, although it will be so specific your facility might have a hard time trying to find it, or you will have to provide direct links. Makes it less "surprising" don't you think? tongue.gif

Lol word. Yeah I think the 580 was a good idea then get one cheap down the road if I need one. Watercooling SLI isnt pointless the 460s i had didnt put off much heat so I found ti pointless but it was still fun thats the reason i did it:D

Sorry for the delay. OCZ is not the manufacturer of the psu and just adds their sticker to the unit.

Check out the psu section here for recommended units. With widespread gold and platinum in the mainstream you should be able to find a better and more efficient unit around the same price.

Will edit later with a short list of units.
