I was wearing of rebates for 60 bucks @ newegg. seemed way over priced. I heard newegg can screw you on the big rebates sometimes.

Yeah Asus is pretty good with rebates. Never had one rejected. Just do exactly what the instructions say.

Btw I can't remember exactly but I don't think it's directly from Asus. Its most likely a rebate center that they outsource to.

I did this last time and never even bothered sending in the rebates. The way I saw it, I was paying $1 for time, $1 for postage/paper, and $3 to keep my personal information from being leaked to another advertising company.
