Hey everyone, new guy here.

Will the above card be able to fit in a NZXT 210 case?
I'm planning on getting one along with an Asrock z77 extreme4 mobo and i'm wondering if both parts will fit in such a case.
If not, any suggestions on cheap alternatives would be nice.

Also, will the GTX 680 be way too overkill for 1440x900 gaming? I plan on making the card last for a few years
and will play mostly RPG's (Elder Scrolls, Assassin's Creed, etc.) and MMO's (WoW heh).

Any input will be highly appreciated. Thanks!

That card will fit in the case assuming you don't have a HDD directly across from it, NZXT stats 9" GPU length with HDD or 13" without. The card is 254mm, and the case's GPU length is listed in the specs section here.

That card will definitely be pretty overkill and will be for quite a while at that resolution (it's even kinda overkill for 1080p right now, but won't be forever). I understand the idea that you want it to last for multiple years but that's usually not a great method because if you just buy what you need or want for now and then rebuy again in 18 months or so with what you need or want then you will usually be better off than buying double what you need or want now, and that's due to how performance per $ tends to increase over time. So to give you an idea of how overkill you are talking about you can likely max all of those games at your resolution with a 560ti right now, and then 680 is more than twice as fast as that, so it's really not worth the $500 to you. I would probably recommend something like a 560ti 448cores if you want just a little overkill or if you're really dead-set on super overkill then at least wait utill the May 10th when the 670 comes out, that should still be way super overkill for a long time but might save you $100 or so.

Welcome to OCN, and if this has helped you then please consider folding for OCN in the Chimp Challenge folding competition. More information about folding in general, the competition and an easy folding set up guide can be found in my signature. smile.gif

Thanks for clearing that up. My previous card was a 8800 (GS i think) and this would be my first upgrade since then.
Got it in 2007 I think so this would be a pretty big upgrade for me. I'm not the kind who changes parts every other year,
so I'll just pray this card lasts me another 5 years, lol. Anyway, your input is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

No problem, as I said even if you are sure you do want a crazy super overkill card at least wait and check out the reviews of the 670 in two days. It might very well be 97% of the performance of the 680 for 80% of the cost.

Hey Arion, I have a question for you. Where are you planning to buy a Jetstream 680? I've been looking for one since they supposedly launched over a month ago, but I haven't found so much as a hint of availability (in North America).
