My mom has one of these shark steamer things, it's like a steam mop. She loves it because we have a lot of tile floors and it's quicker and easier than a traditional mop and bucket. If you don't know what it is, here's a link.
It broke the other day, she said she heard a pop and then steam was coming out the top of it. I figured I'd open it up and see if it was possible to fix. I was expecting to see a cracked pipe or container of some sort, but instead I found this.
Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
This is after the repair, I wish I took before photos but the idea occurred to me halfway through. I thought hey, this is just like water cooling tubing (hence posting in the other cooling discussions section). Maybe I'll post this on OCN.
After closing it back up and testing it, I wasn't regretting taking before photos anymore. I heard a pop and then saw steam everywhere, just like my mom said. The same tube ruptured, so here's a couple pics of that.
Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
I found the real culprit was the mop head that attaches to it. There's a piece that's clogged so I'm currently trying to clear that while I wait for that metal cylinder to cool off. If you guys are interested in the rest of the repair I'll keep taking pics.
