GTX680 -> red screen -> dead.

My about 2 week old gtx680 just fking died. I started up bf3, it loaded into the game, got a red screen on both of my monitors, reset, unplug, no picture, no boot. tested on another system and it wont boot up.

I really can't put into words what I feel right now, its pain, is this a common problem?

Most of the Red Screen issues I've read about were problems related to programs trying to read information off the card, never heard of any red screen actually killing a board. RMA it I guess.

If I remember correctly the issue is caused by the AIDA64 software. If you're using it, disable it and the RSOD should be gone.

EDIT: Check this thread in the AIDA forum, there is a beta version that fix the issue : AIDA64 forums

its not a driver problem if your system doesn't get past POST (Power on Self test) with the card attached. - No fking boot. the shop is closed where I got it, I'm gonna be in major mental pain until tomorrow. Paid 500 for a videocard and it failed in 2 weeks. And I was starting to become a NVIDIA FAN.

Yeah I saw that on google, well, again the machine doesn't boot up with picture on either of my monitors to do anything, like I said I tested it on another machine and no image there either.

today is exactly 2 weeks since purchase on 24.4.2012. Can't rma directly to gigabyte have to go via the reseller, I'll go there tomorrow if they process my RMA request by then.

edit: I had CPUID HWmonitor on at the time, version 1.19
