Yeah, I don't think I can sleep tonight, worrying if this is something that the components that I have on my pc have caused, and if they deny my rma on grounds that the card wasn't faulty and this is something that I've caused.

I couldn't afford another 680 right now, and 540€ would be a major pain to almost anyone.

I don't know if that kind of stuff ever happens? it would be really sick, real pain.

I really hope I get this fixed.

Honestly While I have yet to be in a car accident, and hope I never will be. I'm pretty sure the pain I feel inside my head right now is pretty much the same.

Meh. You don't ask you don't find out. For all I know he has shoved a card that just requires PCI power with no connectors, or one that require different power connectors. I ask the stupid, because he cannot do anything until he gets his RMA approved. Until then rule out everything. I rebuilt an entire machine because I forgot to turn it on on the PSU. Stupid things can cause anything to happen. Double checking it isn't something stupid can only mean it isn't your fault and is a vaild reason for the RMA.

Power isn't knowledge, it's the application of knowledge.

-Edit-

I understand you are stressed, but I am only trying to help you think about the many minor things that could upset your GPU. Unless you designed the GPU, you have no idea what changes, can have what effects. Start at the beginning and work you way down the list. From simplest causes the more complex.

If you're returning it to a reseller, I doubt they're going to do much more than a visual inspection of the card and perhaps even trying it out. I would be more concerned about it possibly happening again if what caused the card to die was really something else, like a faulting PSU. That's why I hope for your sake it is just a faulty card.

I certainly know that sick feeling.

Exactly. When I first got my board it wouldn't do anything. My friends tried everything they could think of. I said "hey what if we pop the battery out to reset everything"? They said "that's not what would cause the issue". Sure enough, I was right. Reset everything you can on the board, who knows.

No offense broseph, but if you had read anything he posted before, you would realize that he already covered what you asked him to do, much less restating it over and over after he said the machine does not post with the GPU installed.

I hope everything works out for you. in the future you may want to consider EVGA. They have great cust support, and prefer you to NOT go thru the reseller for RMA's. You can even get your replacement part cross shipped if you sign up for the service.
