Hey, I'm getting my rig finished up here in the next month. I'm mainly using it to play GTA IV and eventually GTA V. But for the time being, I want to use IV with an Xbox controller instead of the keyboard. Could I use my (modded rapid fire/regular black) controller on my PC without having to buy a special PC Xbox Controller?

Any X-box USB wired controller should work fine on the PC

Just plug it in, GTA IV supports it strait off.

Wait...

Are you trying to connect the Wireless Xbox 360 controller to the PC?

You can't use it on the PC by simply connecting the "charge cable."

If its a wired 360 controller it should work just by plugging it in, wireless is a different story lol. I use my PS3 DS3 on my PC using DS3 tool which makes it so the PC thinks its a 360 controller
