[FOX] Monster sunspot threatens to unleash powerful solar flares - Page 2

Didn't come from MSM?
Never stood a chance on OCN.

Nova had a great show on this recently. Explains a lot about why they may or may not affect the earth. One of the things I learned was that the Sun's magnetic poles change in relation to the sunspot cycle of ~11 years...

Pretty cool show. Watch it if you get a chance here:

You will enjoy!

This was spotted before the feed was cut and is still down.

Thats not all, the NICT Real-Time Magnetosphere Simulation also has been taken down for good. 'Apparently' due to a hacker.... All of the previous data has also been erased. thinking.gif Things that make you go Hmmmmmmm.

Sunspots 486 (bottom large one) and 488 (top large one) see's this sunspot's shenanigans and do not approve

600

Just to give you an idea of how big those two really are, each one is larger than jupiter. And the lower one unleashed the most powerful x-flare ever recorded (upper estimates peg it at X47)

a link to the day sunspot 486 gave us the bird: http://spaceweather.com/archive.php?day=04&month=11&year=2003&view=view

Basically what the sun is doing right now is nothing to be worried about. Once the true monsters start marching across the solar surface (sometime around mid 2013 for the first peak and mid 2014 for the second peak), then you can start worrying.

Nothing to believe? Right now the sun is in its most violent and active stage during its 10 year cycle. Things like sunspots are to be expected. Try recording how many solar flares we have had this year, then you'll realize how active the sun really is. A large enough solar flare can take down our entire national grid, leaving entire continents without power, for years. No power for long periods of time halts all production plants, jobs are useless, paying for items is useless, pretty much full blown anarchy. That's why even bad news, is still good news to be alarmed.

Then people think you're tough. Then they want to see how tough. Then you end up in a ditch. Don't end up in a ditch.
