Have I hit the barrier?

Thread Starter
Specs are below. Can't seem to get over 1155 fsb... In order for it to post, I have to turn off the psu power switch, wait 4 minutes, then reboot... My speed and timings are displayed below. Any suggestions??? I know I can break 4.3, especially on water... B ythe way, with the fsb at 1155, OCCT states stable after 5 hours... Please, any suggestions are welcome. Oh yeah, the vcore is at 1.465

wow, thats pretty impressive already. i never knew nvidia based boards can do such great overclocking. maybe i'm doing something wrong but my D930 on p5wd2-e prem on water can just reach 4.3Ghz with 1.5Vcore. so i would think thats near the barrier on the D920.

by the way, whats your temps like at 1155 fsb & 1.465 Vcore?

We're here to help the OP and not you. Please make another thread if you need help - thanks.

@ OP. Sorry, but the Intel boards with nVidia chipsets are notorious for not being able to overclock high (Far from), and maybe only hitting 250FSB (1000QDR)
I already think it's impressive you've hit 1149 QDR.
My only solution is to go get another motherboard. Someone else might hit you up on one, since I'm not good (far from) at Intel motherboards.

Maybe for AMD. The NVIDIA based chipset (doesn't matter who made the board, the chipset is the weak link) has been shown over and over again to be a moderate overclocker at best.

If jcbzhnsr1 has truely gotten one to 288FSB, then I think he holds a record.

I do notice that you state the vcore is 1.465, however, the CPUz screen shows 1.360....

I have seen 920s go to 4.3-4.5 on custom water, but that was also on the P5WD2-E with the 975 chipset.

The nf4 chipset wasnt the greatest for ocing but the nf3 was great when you matched it up to a lan party board ...\\\\\he chipset on the p5b has also been designed with ocing in mind

If you want a good OCing board for cheap, try a gigabyte DS3

Anything with an Intel chipset should perform well, preferably P965 / 975X
