Corsair h100 questions

Thread Starter 
I'm going to be picking up one of these tomorrow (swapped from an antec 900 to a corsair 600t. Airflow on those suck frown.gif CPU temps idle like 10 degrees higher) so my questions are...

1 should I do a push pull config on this system? With fans on the inside of the case/radiator pushing air through it and 2 fans on the outside pulling air out?(or vice versa) Or should I just do a push or pull combo on of?

And 2- If I do the push/pull config can I use 2 fans that have a 3 speed setting since I have a few laying around? Will those be alright to use with the h100?

I have my H100 set to intake in push / pull and Im happy with the temps.

Honestly, its going to depend on your set up / case / ambient temps and the fans you are planing to use. In short YMMV smile.gif

Id suggest that you have a play with the configuration that you suggested and see which is the best for you.

Thanks for the reply! I was planning on using the fans it came with and 2 antec tricool fans. Will the 3 setting speed mess with the h100 that much if I just set them to medium?

I'm excited to get it! Airflow isn't great in the 600t. My antec 900 I got CPU temps of 27*c on my heatsink. But with this case it's like 40. frown.gif

I would advise this if you are willing to go liquid cooling. An open loop is better than a closed fixed loop like the H100. Also I've read benchmarks that state the Noctua NH-D14 cools the same as the H100 and is cheaper.

It's only $7 more and it's an actual loop. Both 240 rads but the XSPC is really good for the price. Plus it has 4.5 out of 5 stars on FrozenCPU (35 reviews) while the H100 is a 5 star with only 3 reviews. This is an easy kit (slightly harder than mounting a H100) and your cooling difference will be phenomenal.

I thinkk I am going with the h100. I can get it for 97 from a local best buy and they will match the online price from Walmart. I have heard good things about the Rasa stuff! But think I'll keep it more simple! Thanks for the thought though. I did ponder it!

No worries. An H100 for 97 dollars is a really good deal. I spent almost that on my H80 but I am RMA'ing it to make a custom water cooling loop.

Shouldnt be an issue.

Id suggest you use the Corsair stock fans a your "push' fans and the Antecs as your 'pull' fans. If you set you antecs to medium speed, you shouldnt have an issue.

Keep in mind, you have the option to plug all your fans into the H100 controller and that can control your fans for you.

I did not know you could plug 4 fans into the h100?! That is good news to know!

H100 is a good buy, and it keeps things simple I had the same prob as u Rasa or H100 got the H100 on Black friday for $8 after mail in rebate

Have heard some things about it being somewhat noisy. And there is the issue with the grinding noise in the tubes from bubbles. Hopefully they got that fixed and there has been no issues lately?
