X10 Users.

Do we have a few X10 users here?

I ask because I had a play with it in the shop yesterday and quite liked it. Would be nice to hear in some detail how any users here find it.

Thanks in advance smile.gif (curious due to looking for something I can take with me that is not a gripped 7D)

Well, if it's anything like the X100, it is awesome.

IQ should be nice and all, but I can't be able to say for sure, as I only own the X100. But I can say for sure that, this is by far the best street camera I have ever laid my hands on. IQ is amazing, focus is quick with the latest firmware, and it is discrete and silent (The X10 should be even silent :O )

It is way less noticeable than pointing a DSLR at a person, which will most of the time scare off the subject, which is totally not the point of street photography, when you are taking pics of the activities of people's everyday life and not wanting them to notice you and be aware of your existence. And the chances of you getting sued for invasion of privacy while using a DSLR is about 5 times higher than a camera like this smile.gif

X10 is pretty nice from what I saw. I got to play around with one for a bit at my local shop a couple of weeks ago. Liked it, but wasn't completely enamored with it. I'm still trying to decide what to do with my 5Dc in two weeks (though there's a rumor that my local shop will be getting me some medium format Bronica stuff on the cheap on Friday.. looks like an AE-II, see here:

Also.. just an aside, but In the US, in a public place, you can't get sued for invasion of privacy for taking someone's photo. What you can't do is harass, impede, attack, assault, or otherwise mess with people to get their photos (i.e. you cant physically hold their hands back to take photos of their face, or tackle them to take their photos).

Played with an x10 before but wasn't too impressed. Basically a canon g12 with a prime. Nice for a point and shoot but sensor isn't quite dslr quality.

Yeah dude, as long as you're on public land you can take pictures of whatever/whoever you want. You only need permission to sell someone's photo.

HEY -- that's an ETRSi with an AEII prism, speedgrip and 75mm PE. The AEII is notoriously bad, and I've told you quite a few times I would sell you the same setup (but with meter-less prism) for 200 dorra. Get at me.

x10 has a zoom -- and it's fast, f/2 at the wide end and f/2.8 at 35mm equivalent of 112mm. I'm enjoying mine quite a bit, not having the "white orb" issue as I don't shoot wavy lakes in noonday sun or long exposures of dark places with a definitive light source in the frame. It's light, ISO 3200 is uable for web, it's quieter than any other camera I have ever used, it's built extremely well and the finder is invaluable to me. In this Canikon world of DSLR-dom, people tend to forget how many incredibly good cameras Fuji has made over the years.

The x10 is smaller, black, with a clear finder that shows no shooting info -- it also costs half of what the x100 does. Pocketable in a coat, not as much in a shirt pocket -- but the stock strap is long enough to sling over your shoulder onto your back, and it's so light you barely notice it.
