Looking 4 Case + question

Thread Starter
1st Question:
-I am in search of a more efficient, good looking case with good airflow and good case temps... Big enough to handle any ugprading I might do in the next year or two.
-Please post your suggestions im planning on spending around a max of $125 on this case.

2nd Question:
I bought my computer and assembled it about a year ago, I have been overclocking ever since and had no problems with the overclock, however is there a time-frame when I should re-apply arctic silver / thermal pastes to my CPU? is that supposed to be a one time thing or am I taking a big chance by not re-applying it on the CPU?

thanks for any help

This is the case I have,
X-Navigator
I know its just a tad over your $$ limit, but well worth it, I'm totally in love with mine. It comes with 2 temp wires and a display showing temps on both wires, and also a 5-fan control module. The power supply it comes with isn't bad either, but I did replace mine.

As far as the Arctic Silver, I'm pretty sure it 'should' be good as long as the surfaces are not bothered (ex. heatsink gets moved around on top of processor). Actually from reading the stuff on their website, it seems as though it gets better as it gets older. The molecules of silver settle into any pores in the surfaces over time. Actually works better the more times it gets to heat-up then cool down to room temp (shutting PC down after use).

to your first question:
the thermaltake armor seems to be pretty popular ($125 after $25 mail in rebate+$25shipping=$150): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811133154
I'm making a new rig and was looking at this one, looks like it has nice cooling, comes with 2x80mm leds, temp+fan speed+sound gauges, and fan controller(though is significantly under your budget, which you might find appealing or too cheap, $60+$14 shipping):

to your second question:
the basic rule is that thermal compounds shouldn't need be reapplied until you notice the temps go up

If you ask me the Armor is basically the perfect case i love mine and 4 of my friends have them and we all agree so i'd say its good. And onto the as5 i dont think you have to (although i could be wrong but i think above is right as long as you got it smuged and all the air out the first time it should be fine.

yep, thermal paste is supposed to control temps, so the inverse must be true and temps should monitor if you need to change thermal paste right?

also if the armor is overbudget, I've also heard good things about the thermaltake tsunami ($96 after rebate+$15 shipping): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811133132

Yes, the temps stay really low with the setup in that case, even at low fan speeds, also the monitor temps seem to be very accurate, I've tested the leads myself with a blow drier/thermometer and also folded an icepak around them and they read accurately from 0'C up to 55'c (which nothing inside a case "should" get that hot anyhow, aside from your PSU and Gfx card). Excellent case, loads of room, also PCGamer selected it for their "Ultimate Gaming Rig" issue. Keep it in mind friend.
