Corsair AX750W issues, new build

Thread Starter
Just built a new desktop on a $1050 budget. I seem to be having some power supply issues though. I started it up and for the first 2 seconds the fan was spinning but than it stopped. I looked on the forums and seen it usually stays off until it is under some load or it gets hot. I downloaded world of warcraft from my external hard drive and loaded it up on ultra settings for about 10 minutes and the fan still hasn't turned on.

EVGA GTX 480
Intel i5 2500k (stock)
8GB DDR3 @ 1600

So what should I do? Package it up for return or do you maybe think it wasn't hot enough or under enough load to start spinning?

Thanks in advance,
Gahstly

I would think the only way it would need to pull more power is under graphic intensive games, WoW is cpu

I ran unigine heaven benchmark on high, it lasted close to 5 minutes. Haven't seen it move since I first booted the system. Did I run the right benchmark, is there a longer one?

I'm thinking it should of turned on by now, but maybe it is working as intended. I won't really know till I call corsair tomorrow.

Pros: 1 year not one single problem, great product.

Cons: Not necessarily a con but does the fan on this thing ever turn on? I swear in one year it's came on 1 time and went away never to turn on again.

Other Thoughts: The one time it turned on I was using almost all my usb ports (8) to either charge or transfer data.

^^^ 5 Star (or egg) Feedback on newegg

So I guess maybe that's just how some of them are suppose to run. It really worries me though.

Thanks for the input on the matter biggrin.gif

Well you still haven't put your pc in rigbuilder or told us the wattage of the psu the entire thread
could just be that you aren't using even close to how much it can supply

How can I tell how much wattage I'm using? Is there a program for that? Or is it like a tool?

i think you just have to use an online calculator that estimates it by your pc specs, can you add the rest of your specs to rigbuilder so we know more than just gpu cpu and ram
