[Build Log] Baby Blue - Page 3

Bad news update guys. My h 100 started the grinding noise and I tried the diode "fix". It quieted down the pump but I must of done something wrong because it shorted the fan controller which resulted in my fans spinning at MAX speed.

The good news is I was able to get a replacement. I'm going to order a fan controller tonight and try that method to reduce the pump voltage/noise. So as of now Project Baby Blue is down frown.gif will update with results as soon as fan controller is installed.

Any recommendations on decent fan controller? Like $20?

Honestly no idea about the fan controller coz i dont use them, but i could help out to find one i guess. How many fans do you want to hook up and what fans are those?

Well the fix for the rattle is to power the corsair unit via fancontroller so you can lower the voltage to <12v. Therefore reducing the pump speed and the rattle.

I did install a new one last night and it's been running since with no issues. Oddly enough I actually heard liquid flowing in this one. The other I never could hear it. Even before it started the rattle.

I never had any intention of running a fancontroller so I don't want to hook up any fans only the pump. I'm going to order a hyper 212+ as a backup as well.

Nice looking build man. You should really get it folding for OCN though in the Chimp Challenge.

Well looks like I have another Issue...lol it's either my PSU or my board causing this wierd surge on boot up now rolleyes.gif check video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oRFMpwynA8c

Im gonna update BIOS and/or clear cmos and re install every piece of hardware to make sure connections are good. If that doesn't fix it I will test the PSU voltage.
After those are done then I will see what/if I need to RMA. This is horrible timing as I was going to order my gtx 670 as soon as newegg restocks -_- I really hope it isn't the power supply because if it is I am done with Corsair forever lol.

Thanks for the comments guys thumb.gif

I've pretty much found out the problem with the surge I'm having. Guess what? It's the H-100 again lol. Unplugged the fans and it boots up fine.
