Yea, I won't be buying one. So Grand Total is now $372.11 with the i3/ASRock H61M.

You still will want a dedicated soundcard. Onboard audio, especially cheaper motherboards, will have some noise on them.

Since this is for church build, I don't see the need for dedicated sound card. If you must, Xonar DG is the best budget sound card.

I mentioned it earlier in the thread, I use a Behringer UCA202 ($30 online everywhere.)

He may not need it if it is just for projection. I just know that if you plan on recording services, you want something better than onboard. The UCA202 is near silent and works great.

They play videos sometimes, so I guess sound card would be a good idea.

Sound card is almost pointless for a Church, unless they have a nice sound system, which I doubt. Onboard will usually be fine.

I gotta agree with XD, an APU build for this islikely the best price/performance you'll get in a tiny budget.

And what he says about supercombos is right. Most supercombo's are formed by company A taking X, Y, and Z part that don't sell or they have way too much stock of, and they try to offload on people thinking they are getting a good deal. Also take note of supercombos and watch the price of the parts. Most times the parts take a nice price drop after the so called combo is over. It's more of a scam to try to get people hyped up about buying products that are outdated and being pushed off the shelves by any means. This usually means your gonna pay MORE for the items than if you waited a week, and are 90% of the time low quality parts anyway. (like taking a Phenom II 960T and bundling it with an garbage overpriced mobo, crappy overpriced ram, horrible Case with timebomb PSU, and a slow HDD or something and call it a deal. People looking for a cheap deal will be enticed by the cheap 960T computer and will be more willing to pull the trigger as you get a nice "discount".)

an APU will do wonders here.

From what I saw, they actually do have a nice and a very expensive sound set up.

Then you might want a sound card. Though you'd have to give it a try. If its a huge place without great acoustics and they have decent, but not audiophile type equipment, even a sound card won't be noticeable. But again, I don't know for sure, just trying to help save a church money if possible/needed.

Sound card aside, go with an APU smile.gif
