What is your motherboard?
Did you plug the SSD in a Native controlled SATA 3? Set it to AHCI or IDE?

EDIT: looks like you're in IDE mode.

yes it is in ide mode
i tried to change it to ahci and it didnt boot anymore

Motherboard: Asrock 970 extreme 4

If it doesn't boot you may need to reinstall Windows

Back up all the important data on the SSD and try this http://support.microsoft.com/kb/922976 and restart your PC (I haven't tried this registry tweak myself)

if it still won't boot then you need to reinstall windows: Go to the BIOS and change IDE to AHCI before you reinstall.
Everything should work by now.

well the tweak did allow me to boot but it was so slow AS SSD benchmark wouldn't even load, so i restarted and after 5 minutes of sitting on the shutdown screen and nothing happened i just forced it to shutdown and similarly when trying to boot
do you think that this issue would be fixed if i reformatted then reinstalled windows while in ahci?

I had this problem. Do a fresh install with it set to achi mode. This fixed my slow drive.

i was able to boot from ahci as long as i did not have my other (mechanical) hard drives connected, unfortunately i have have not figured out what i will do about that issue as of yet. most likely i will just format them and hope they are able to be recognized as giant storage devices.

unfortunately i had to reinstall windows 7 while ahci mode was on, but no harm done.

though i have not managed to obtain kingston's supposed 500 MB write speed... i am happy that i managed to bump up all the scores, especially the seq read. it was depressing to know that my mom's 6 year old computer with the exact same ssd was beating my 6 month old gaming pc on every test...

if anyone knows how to get the 500 mb write, that would be awesome
