This worries me that current hardware cant run their engine as it stands, since next gen consoles are comprised of some hardware that is already slightly outdated to the PC gaming standards

How did they make the engine in the first place? Beta alpha beta kepler cards?

Seems stupid denying %90 of the market share because of a brand new Nvidia card.

Excuse me? I thought PC's had the best graphics out there. It's not like consoles have even the best tech. Hell, my single 450, which is not even high-end and two generations behind, dsplays better graphics than my PS3. And i really doubt even the "next-gen" consoles will even catch up with SLI 470's, which are also two generations behind.

Epic software are digging their own grave with this. Not everyone will have the money to upgrade to Big Kepler, since i really doubt anything less (anything under 660, or SLI configs) will play whatever is based on Unreal Engine.

It's going to take a long while before any game runs on this. At some point during the decade your current hardware will become obsolete.

Has it occurred to anyone that it was a just a nod in the direction of nvidia to help boost sales? Anyone in their right mind knows that if a 680 can run it, then a 580 will at least be able to play it, maybe not ultra, but it will be able to play. Then again, why would anyone have a problem with that fact since most of the threads I read about BF3/500 series of cards say "I just turn down settings and it looks great"? Now, 570's....probably pretty limited. 400 series, probably should look at upgrading if you make it your exclusive game. Now, I have 2 lightning xtremes so I dont bat an eyelash biggrin.gif

I think people are reading this the wrong way. Sure it currently only runs on Kepler cards, but I'm betting AMD support is forthcoming. If rumors are to be believed, neither the Xbox720 nor PS4 will be using Kepler based GPU's if they are porting it to run on those gimped consoles certainly PC support will updated as well.
