of course it will

There's no current game that your card can't handle at high settings

so when 8 series comes along your card probably do med-high settings on games (still not justifying an upgrade in my book), unless some extreme breakthroughs such as what we had in the crysis / bioshock year

But if the ol' 8800-series are still going strong on 95% of modern games, i see no real eason why to get the best and highest out there.

Lol this article is just completely Biased, well consoles do have an advantage since its one single hardware always so its completely optimized for that hardware, also that is how the Samaritan demo was able to run smoothly on the 680, I'm pretty sure it was optimized exclusive to it, thats why the 7970 can't run it, off course if they did the same to the 7970 it would run the demo just as good, technically the 7970 and the 680 are nearly identical in power when they have the same clock.

This thread title is quite simply fabricated and misleading. No where in the linked article are the words the OP "quoted" even mentioned. it does not say it will only run on Kepler. It does not say current hardware is not powerful enough. It refers to current console hardware. Fail thread, fail article.

Hi All,
If it plays on consoles it will play on medium range pcs. Think about the graphics engines that are in even the upcoming consoles. Do you really think Sony or Microsoft are going to stick 680's, 670's or even 650's in their boxes? How about 7970, 79 80, 7950's. Not likely so unless the unreal engine wants to blow itself out of the water before it ever gets wet I think ismell hype in all this. Also they would be fools to create a game engine that can only run on the most expensive pc's. And again, if that were the case it would not be able to run on any consoles, current or upcoming, since the pc still smokes the console in hardware capability.
JMHO,
have a great day
