Help a noob build his first truly water cooled rig.

Hey guys,

Right now I have X2 omni ALC's for my GPU's (GTX 580's) and and Corsair H100 for my CPU (2700k @ 5ghz) but I think I am ready to step it up. Here's what I have so far, as I am new to watercooling I really don't know what else to get.
*Updated*
Reservoir: XSPC Dual 5.25" Bay Reservoir
Pump: Swiftech MCP655-B or Swiftech MCP655 Variable Speed
GPU Blocks: EK GeForce 570 / 580 GTX
Radiator: XSPC RX240
Compression Fittings: Bitspower

*Updated Concerns*

I have bought everything listed above but the pump/res enclosure. I am not sure whether to by variable speed or not. Also I really need help with tubing and would appreciate a confirmation on whether or not I have purchased the correct parts.

New Case: NZXT 810
New Fans: Not sure, maybe AP-14's/15's. I have a fan controller, but as I want the case quiet I don't think I will push 1200 RPM.
Reservoir: XSPC Dual 5.25" Bay Reservoir
Pump: Swiftech MCP655-B or Swiftech MCP655 Variable Speed
GPU Blocks: EK GeForce 570 / 580 GTX
Radiator: Not sure
Tubing: Not sure, would like clear.
Coolant: Not sure, preferably blue
Everything else: No idea
Open to suggestions on anything ^
Ideally what I want is a quiet build. I doubt I will be able to cool both my GPU's and my CPU with one radiator/loop, but I am ok with the H100 because it does the the job @ 5ghz . If I have other options please let me know. I was thinking of mounting a dual radiator at the bottom of the case and the H100 at the top, but I am open to any and all suggestions. I know I am missing all the connectors and such but I honestly have no idea what to get.
Thanks in advance everyone!

This is the set up I'm about to buy. Still deciding on which comp fitting I want. Swivel or fixed. Feel free to check it out but I warn out it runs about 600 bucks. Oh and don't mind the case, I'm upgrading to that.

PS. I hear over and over again from my buddies that Tygon tubing is the best hands down but only comes in mette black and clear.

It looks like you have a pretty good setup, although I would just buy a universal GPU block, just in case you want to change GPUs later on.

With full cover blocks, you end up taking a large monetary hit because you have to get a new block when you get a new GPU. Worst case, you have to purchase newer mounts with the universal block.

Edit: Forgot to ask, you're keeping the H100 or ditching it?

I wont be upgrading my GPU's until the 700 series so I don't mind buying another set then. Ideally I would want to get rid of the H100 but I really don't have 600 to spend right now.

Cool, your choice regarding the GPU blocks! I love how full coverage blocks look, but the last one I bought I ended up taking a $50 hit on when I upgraded a few months later....

Anywho! I'm unfamiliar with the Switch, but judging by the pictures on the link you provided I think the bottom drive bays are removable and you should be golden with a 240mm radiator in the bottom. XSPC RX240 or EX240 are good and not crazy expensive. I use one RX 240 for my single 570, which doesn't load up past 50C OCed.

I was about to mention the XSPC, yeah NZXT can fit a 420 on top, 240 on the bottem and if you use only SSD then you can also put a 240x60mm where the HDD bays are.

No mods required? I might have to ditch the 800D. I had to chop it up and re-rivet a spot to get my RX240 in the bottom thumbsdownsmileyanim.gif

Nice, the XSPC RX240 looks promising. Any idea where I might get a reservoir pump combo like I listed, FrozenCPU is out (Do I really need the variable speed pump?). Also, what size tubing and how much do I need? I was also looking into the EK FC bridge, I am not sure what size I need, my MB is an Asus P8Z68 Deluxe Gen3. Still not sure how many compression fittings or what brand I should get. If I get the bridge I would need 4 less fittings correct (Not sure if the bridge is worth it). Not sure how many I would need in total though.

You could try performance-pcs.com, they might have some left in stock.

As for tubing, it depends. 1/2'' ID is probably the most popular. I use 7/16'' ID because it's a little easier to route, although it limits my options with some fittings.

XSPC makes compression fittings that don't cost an arm and a leg, but they only come in a few colors.
