Asus maximus v gene - nh d14 to big to fit the gpu aswell?

Going to order the maximus v gene tonight, it was between that the asrock extreme4 and the msi gd55.

Anyways will be my first matx board and I am concerend about the size of the nh d14, silver arrow etc. If I get the nh d14 will it block the first pci slot meaning I will need to move my gpu down to the second x8 slot?
Would I be better going with a h100 or one of the other two cheaper full sized boards?

uhm.. it says it right in the pic biggrin.gif it's the MSI twin frozer. the card itself doesn't matter since they put twin frozer on practically any GPU. latest one is a 7970. i don't think they have a 680gtx version yet since that chip is constantly out of stock biggrin.gif i don't think i've seen a 680gtx that is not reference cooler yet.

anyway. the card fits WITH the NH-D14. if you notice the mobo, it's a ROG board which means it's a gene-Z. afaik all gene-Z have the same layout so an IV is going to have the same layout as a V in terms of cpu placement (so when people upgrade they don't have to buy new cpu coolers)
