I have a friend who was asking me if his temps were ok but I was not to sure he has the following setup

i7 990x Overclocked to 4.1Ghz with a 1.23 Cpu Voltage
Water block is a koolance cpu 370
GPU is a MSI gtx 580 lightning xtreme 3gb which is not being water cooled
Radiator is a XSPC 360mm in push/pull fans 6x GT AP-15s

Temps his getting with room temp at 22c
Idle: 24c to 31c
Load: 53c to 58c

Yea that seems about right my i7 is around that hot at exactly that same voltage.

As the above poster said, seems about right. Might be a little bit hot. I would expect closer to the low 50s than high, but that could be do to a whole host of variables such as bad seat, bad TIM application, poor airflow through the rads, rads getting warm air, etc.

Wouldn't worry too much about it as it won't affect his performance in the slightest.

Is this a new loop or a old loop that has been running a while? If it is a new loop, is all the bubble s out of the lines? Once those are out that will make a impact also. And when you say load, do you mean p95, IBT, LinX. or just general usage? Thanks

Looks right to me, from what I've seen the hex-core 1366 CPUs tend to run a hair warmer than their quad counterparts. I'd imagine he has a very low water delta, and could honestly add a GPU to that loop and only raise the CPU temp by a few degrees with both components at full load.

Absolutely fine. I have a 980x which is very similar and my temps are nearly identical, except mine are higher at load, which makes sense. If your friend means 100% pegged load, e.g. prime95 or IBT, then his temps are stellar, imo.

Thanks guys for your replys just a quick update

With the same overclock at 4.1Ghz with a 1.23 Cpu Voltage
I reseated my friends waterblock and done a 18 hours 100% load prime95 test this was on Small FFT's which really stresses the cpu and the max temps reached this time was 54c and since this is a i7 990x with 6 cores the temps were between 44c to 54c this does look allot better. smile.gif
