Ive read around a while back, and through personal experience, i don't really see a difference between DVD+R and DVD-R. And if you mean by: can my dvd burner burn any kind" as in DVD+R and DVD-R. Yes, it'll work, whichever one you want.

The only point to burn to a DVD+R or DVD-R is the compatibility of your stand-alone DVD player. Some players can use both types just fine, some can only accept one type. Most DVD Players can play movies burned onto DVD+R disks. You'll just have to try it out to see which ones your stand-alone player can read once you burn a movie onto it.

yeah, it's a different format, same size and burning is usually the same. as long as your burner can use both (most-likely can) you just need to see what your DVD player can handle. In my experience +R is more compatable, although both my DVD players can handle both +/-R's (panasonic and Oppo)
