Intel 2500 Integrated Graphics - Specific settings?

Hey guys, so I have a question, possibly a very dumb one, but I have been:
1) running an AMD chip in my own PC for a while
2) been using a dedicated graphics card

So I built a PC for my neighbour, and put a intel SB 2500 in it. Its just a general use PC, so it didn't need a dedicated graphics card. I know that the SB chips have a graphics portion to the chip themselves...

So with the computer up and running, is there a BIOS setting you need to change to tell the mobo to use the Intel chip for graphics processing instead of whatever the onboard chip is, or does it do it automatically?

Cheers OCN

Is there a way to confirm that it is using the SB graphics to render?

My other thought is that LGA1155 motherboard don't actually have a integrated graphics chip on them, and they will either depend on the SB chip, or a PCI-Express card if available?

Well, the VGA/DVI connector will be coming from the mobo. Connect to that one and it will use the onboard on startup.

In fact, if you have a dedicated card in the system but connect to the mobo slot, I've seen BIOS give boot warnings about it.

1155 motherboard's don't come with video, most specs state that fact. the 2500 has intel hd 3000 i believe? or maybe 2000? that's how they're built to work.
does that make sense? that's why you don't see very many nvidia chipsets anymore on motherboards, if there even are any.

Yep thats what I kind of figured after the fact. If the board is made to support only chips that all have an integrated graphics component on them, why would they install an integrated graphics processor onto the mobo itself as well right?

Cheers guys thanks for the clarification !
