[BSON] AMD Counter-Attacks GeForce GTX 670, Questions NVIDIA's Kepler Availability - Page 28

It's pretty hilarious that they released this statement right around the time a bunch of GTX 670's hit the market, which absolutely destroy AMD's high end products in the value department.
It seems they are crying because they maybe have overstock?
It could be that half sold went back?
who knows
Seems a little desperate from AMD. It's like they can't compete with the cards so they are trying to attack it in other ways.

HA HA, oh wow.
If you have to point at availability and free games to make your card look better, you've already lost. 99% of gamers couldn't give any less of a crap about GPGPU performance, the GTX680 with it's lower VRAM and memory bandwith performs surprisingly well at high resolutions, and idle noise levels and temperatures aren't something I'm going to lose sleep over either, mainly because they're negligible.
I normally try to stay away from fanboy topics, but this is just pathetic.

Don't worry AMD, I have yet to see even one of your 7000 cards at CompUSA.

AMD beat nvidia to the market by nearly 5 months. Had a steady supply from the start. SO the AMD PR department did what ANY PR department would do and commented on that. How is that so hard to see?

Whatever you're on, I want it. $340 for a 7970? Next thing you'll be asking for a 3930k at $250

I can definitely see the 7970 being overpriced with the 670 out at $400, but I can't see how the 680 isn't just as overpriced.

Last I checked, the 7970 and 680 are within a few percent at 2560x1600 (that's not even coming close to 2GB of VRAM use). Overclock them both, 7970 wins. I have to wonder who'd pay more for a 680? People gaming at 1080p with a $500 GPU? rolleyes.gif

Sooo is everyone basically in agreement GTX 670 > GTX 680 in terms of value for performance...$100 premium def. not worth it for GTX 680?
