While pricing it goes 690>680=7970>7950>670.
7970 needs to come down to about $400 for it to be worth it compared to the 670/680 at this point in the game.

Where are you getting your numbers?

690>680>7970>670>7950. Just taking into consideration current generation, and not the previous generation, as doing that makes the structure look a lot different.

Stock to stock the 670 is not higher performing than the 7970, get off the fanboy horse and come down to reality.

Stock to stock the 670 is not higher performing than the 7970, get off the fanboy horse and come down to reality.

Several stock benchmarks prove that the 670 is between 8-13% faster than the 7970. That's the reality.

Loser = customers
I do not see how people can feel good about buying these overpriced products and feel so vehement about each brand.
AMD and Nvidia let us down this generation.

I don't see how this will be any different next generation. If anything, the strategy is yielding success. Though it does appear Nvidia holds the edge with this generation.

Total rhetoric. AMD is just nervous and going for the, "We have more available..." route. The problem is, if it's worth waiting for, people will wait.

Off topic: Am I the only one that has been glancing at this damn thread all day reading "AMD Counter-Strike...." oooh, finally some news on cs!! (CLICKY), doh.

Hmm...that is funny.....because according to Tom's the 670 is 15.3% faster than the 7970....

But over here at Anand; http://www.anandtech.com/show/5818/nvidia-geforce-gtx-670-review-feat-evga/7

The 7970 is actually faster than the 670 and EVGA 670 Super Clocked. In fact looking over the Anand review the numbers appear to be a little more realistic and in line with what others are seeing. To say the least Tom's numbers are heavily skewed in favor of Nvidia for some reason.

EDIT: I apologize, I read the review wrong. The one I was looking at on Anan was at 2560x1600, at the 1920x1200 the 670 does pull ahead a little. Which does bring up an interesting point, Tom's didn't show a comparison of the 7970 and 670 at 2560x1600. That is a little misleading on their part to leave that out, when they ran the 680 vs 670 at those resolutions.

Just like the 680 and 7970 trade blows, the 670 and 7970 now will, and the 670 costs less. So price drops for both the 680 and especially the 7970 are coming in the near future. People from both camps are going to be getting 670 with numbers like those on a card that costs ~$80 less than the 680 and ~$60 less than a 7970.
