Problem with computer freezing every hour

Thread Starter
Sorry I don't really know where to post so I'm just posting in Intel General. Basically every 30 minutes - 1 hour, sometimes sooner, my computer will completely freeze, everything will stop responding and it will stay this way for about 4-5 minutes if you wait for it, then it will black screen and this error will come up:

glEZA.jpg

I've tried booting in safe mode, I've tried just starting it up and not signing in a computer profile, it still will freeze and black screen if you wait about an hour, I have no clue whats causing this and am asking for advice from others with more experience than I.

computer stats:

cpu - intel i7 2600k
gpu - geforce gtx 580
mobo - gigabyte z68xp-ud3p
HD - samsung 1tb 7200rpm
SSD - crucial m4 128gb
PSu - seasonic x650 gold
ram - corsair vengeance 16gb
windows 7 home premium 64bit

thanks in advance if you're able to help me out with this.

First, try booting up your rig with just one memory stick at a time.If it is the memory, then you'll find it. If you are overclocking,I would suggest going in to bios and running at stock.

Its not overclocked, I guess i'll just have to do trial and error with the memory but it'll take a while since it happens after about an hour.

How long have you had that Realtek PCIe Gigabit Ethernet? I used to have one that was causing my sig rig to crash frequently on a daily basis. I ended up tossing it in the trash and using the onboard LAN, problem solved.

Quickest way to find out is uninstall that card and all of its software/driver/registry keys/files & folders, and use the onboard LAN.

If it's old, I'd suggest buying a new one, it's relatively cheap nowadays. If it's new, I'd suggest removing it from Device Manager, completely uninstall all of its software/driver/registry keys/files & folders. Shut down, remove and re-insert the card, boot into Windows and let system re-detect, and reinstall the driver (I'd recommend download the latest one from manufacturer's site.)

Actually, this very well could be what's going on. My guess is that your bios settings tell your pc to boot from a network/lan as possibly a second choice, and when this bug happens your computer sort of loses sight of your hard disk for a moment and thus tries to boot from the network/lan, but can't because it's not setup to. Hope that made sense, and I hope this is really your issue as it's super easy to fix.

LS, I think that IS the NIC built into his mobo, no? (I haven't checked his motherboard if I'm being honest)

I didn't check that mobo's specs yet either so I'm not sure. Usually if it's onboard it wouldn't be spec'ed as PCIE, just my thought. But I had a Realtek NIC which caused my old rig to crash. If this is the onboard one then it could be the SSD like you said. Though I've never encountered that error message he got.."No boot filename received" & "Exiting PXE ROM" seem suspicious @@''
