Gaming PC upgrade help

Thread Starter
Hey guys

So after many hours of research I have finally worked out what I want in my upgrade.

Here it is:

(all prices in Australian dollars)

Intel i5 3570k - $250
Asrock extreme6 z77 mobo - $195
Corsair H100 - $155 (first one was Doa so hoping for the best)
Corsair vengeance 8gb blue - $59
Corsair force 3 120gb ssd - $159

Please tell me what you think about my upgrade choice and if I should make any changes.

I'm not too sure about the motherboard brand but I heard it is good.

Also for the ssd, many people change their mind about what brand I should get so I gave up and chose this drive which is cheap and looks to have good performance.

Any help appreciated!

Thanks
Joshua

Here is Sean's guide for SSDs

http://www.overclock.net/t/1179518/seans-ssd-buyers-guide-information-thread/0_30

He states Corsair Force 3 as a low end SSD. I also just recently purchased a SSD which is OCZ Agility 3 which is not recommended as well but for me, a first time ever SSD user things are going brilliantly. But i am sure the differences can be noticed if i was to choose a high end SSD from that list.

For me price was important and thats why I opted for a OCZ Agility 3.

Your motherboard is great.

You are getting a new generation CPU which is also good.

What about the GPU?

i would look at the crucial M4 128Gb as it is one of the most reliable SSDs around and one of the top dogs..
you might be able to catch this deal
http://www.skycomp.com.au/item/Crucial-2-5-inch--M4-SSD-128GB-SOLID-STATE-DRIVE.aspx

or maybe pccasegear but its $189AUD

other prices

you could probably save on the motherboard and go for the Asrock z77 extreme4 or pro4 and pump the savings into a better SSD.. Yes asrock are rock solid boards smile.gif
