Jesus... 2 way SLI equals 2 way 680... Why did I even waste my money on these 680s

Maybe I should return them

My EVGA GTX670 SC sample has a base clock of 967MHz, listed boost of 1046MHz, actual boost of 1175MHz, then OC'd to 1230MHz. That's only 55MHz over the actual boost clock. So, a 21.5% OC over the base clock, or 5.7% OC over the actual boost clock.

Boost clock makes things complicated at times...

The boost of my GTX670 is 91MHZ or so higher than the GTX680, so that closes the gap between the GTX670 and GTX680. Also, I couldn't test GTX670 and GTX680 on the same driver, because the GTX680 isn't compatible with 301.34 drivers... rolleyes.gif

If anyone wants to feel at least a little better about your 7970, look at the Anand benchies. Overall it's still not too pretty of a picture, but they managed to find the most games at which the AMD card excels.

So far I've looked over 3 sets of benchies, and still not seen one for Crysis 2. I'm amazed they don't ALL use it headscratch.gif

Also, PiL, you duped the PCPer bench link wink.gif

If I could get $500 for my 680 I would probably go for it. But any less and it doesn't seem worth it.

The 670 is literally within 6-8% of the 680, sometimes even closer. It OC's better too which basically means you can get the same performance out of it even OC'd.
Theres no reason to buy a 680 now.
nVidia is on a damn roll right now with these Kepler cards.

You must have missed my second post. The 470 was clocked at 607Mhz, and the GTX 480 at 700Mhz. Clock the 470 at 700Mhz and the difference is a lot smaller.

Also the 470 was 150 dollars cheaper than the 480.

I agree however, the 670 is a different league than the 470, but enthusiasts should not too surprised that Nvidia pulled the same thing twice.

Why? Your in denial that the 680 can't compete over clocked with a 7970 over clock or something? tongue.gif

This $499 GTX 680 represented the first in the line of Kepler GPUs and served as NVIDIA's new flagship single-GPU video card. Our testing, over and over has proven that the GeForce GTX 680 competes well with AMD's current offerings, providing a greater value and a greater performer.

On topic: Looks like price performance king this year is the 670 easily. If you in the market and looking for price per performance the 670 is your better choice over 680 / 7970. It easily beats the 7950 up to you if $30 less is worth the performance decrease.

However 680 & 7970 owners have no reason to feel bad, at a premium price we still got the absolute best cards albeit if not that much more ahead it's still better over all. smile.gif
