Since the GTX 670 and GTX 680 are identical except for one disabled SMX unit, I tried to SLI them. It didn't work, but I'm not sure if that's only because there aren't any drivers that support both the GTX 670 and GTX 680. NVIDIA will probably not allow it either way, but maybe a driver hack will be easier since the cards are so similar? Driver hacking and what it takes to do it are over my head.

Just a random thought as I was working on the card last week...

Oh, and that's post 100 tongue.gif

Card's a little powerhouse. I never cease to be amazed by what these two can pump out (including AMD).

Just imagine if the graphics proceeded like this. drool.gif

I've found my 570s replacement!

Missed out in the windforce by seconds. Would it be a bad idea to just get an EVGA model?

Absolutely not. It might not be non-reference cooling, but you're actually getting a smaller card. And it looks sexy as hell.

Seems like the GB is pretty no-brainer if you wanna use the Egg and do it today.
I'm hoping w/the Rush Processing I magically see it by Friday ... usually the 3-day from the Egg only takes 2 days when I order in the AM.
I strongly suspect everyone will by out of these babies by tomorrow, and it'll be weeks before there's more.

Windforce is already sold out.

this was to be expected, smaller PCB => more things on lesser surface , less surface to dissipate heat => higher temps...

That logic is sound ... but the question is ... are those temps worth the risk ?? ... they definitely in the safe ... but they are high ... ... should we all look at non ref designs instead ??
