hopefully the airflow in my case is good enough for the gb 670, i have a corsair 550d with a bottom intake fan, and all the vents closed.

Without the side panel fans on intake or a fan in the HDD bay blowing on the 670, you will hear the fan quite a bit more than a configuration with more airflow. Without the side-panel intake (In a 550D), my temps approached 70C and the fan was quite audible (which is how I found out that I had a bad fan bearing that made vibrational noise between 52-58% fan speed). With the side panel fans, I rarely topped 60C and the card was inaudible.

These cards need airflow to be happy. The 550D is an interesting, versatile creature... but when in "silence" mode the temps are terrible. I ended up removing the side and top covers for my build to increase airflow.

This exactly! Here is my setup with 2 GTX 670's sandwiched in SLI.

When I originally had my side fan blowing onto the cards the temps of the temp card skyrocketed in BF3 to 88C!!! After that I turned it around to blow out and setup another fan to blow onto the back of the cards like this
448
Now the temps are much more manageable around 76C top card and 61C bottom card.

Dear god cable management...

I don't think it's bad considering the case form factor. He would have to custom make / modify the power cables to clean things up.

really? Seems to me that he is running all of his cables in front of the motherboard, but I do not know the case... So I guess I can't really judge...

Yes! After reading about this card and seeing the price I'm glad I decided to wait these couple extra months and managed to grab a EVGA 670 last night. I almost want to have a little ceremony for the 4870, that card has been faithful throughout the years lol.

Just to be sure, this shouldn't have any problems running on a 500w PSU correct?

I think the price is good considering this card is sluggin' it out with 680s and 7970s!

I'm thoroughly impressed with the 670. I'm also feeling really behind now with my aging GTX460. redface.gif

I've been pretty down on the reference design, but after reading that Asus DirectCU review on TPU I'm interested in one, even in my low-airflow build smile.gif I'd prefer to get something shorter, but we'll see what I end up with in the next week or two wink.gif
