[Build Log] Ivy Bridge + Sugo SG06 mini-powerhouse

The last piece of my new mini-ITX build, the ASRock Z77E-ITX motherboard, arrives today. I've been looking to downsize, so I sold my Storm Scout ATX midtower build in hopes of assembling something smaller. As soon as I get my hands on a camera (hopefully later today) I'll be putting together this bad boy!

Specs:
  • Intel Core i5-3450 (Ivy Bridge)
  • stock cooler
  • ASRock Z77E-ITX
  • Crucial Ballistix Sport 2x4GB DDR3-1600 RAM
  • Crucial m4 256GB SSD
  • Silverstone SG06BB-450 mini-ITX case
  • Silverstone ST45SF 450W SFX power supply (bundled with case)
  • Graphics: Integrated for now. Still looking for a good deal on a video card, probably GTX 560 or Radeon 6870 class.
  • LG GH22NS90 DVD burner, to be connected via a SATA-USB adapter (lol)

The CPU, RAM, and optical drive were acquired from Microcenter. The motherboard was acquired from Newegg. The case and SSD were acquired from Amazon.

i don't quite understand the logic behind 4 gig sticks tho. that's like so last year biggrin.gif you are only allowed 1 pair on ITX, might as well make the most of it if you are going ivybridge anyway

I've been perfectly happy with 8GB though, even when running two VMs at once. There seems to be a small premium on 2x8GB kits, so for now it's $50 I can save.
