so should i go with the windforce gigabyte in my 600T or spend the extra $40 for the EVGA FTW...hrm.

gonna give up on the stepup as i've been stuck in the 740 range for the GTX 680 for the past week + now lol

My 2cents.gif, go with the windforce. Save the $40 and you will probably be able to OC it higher than what you could the FTW version.

As much of a fan I was of EVGA cards, I got the Windforce, here is what I was able to OC to stable, I'm extremely happy.

I have been waiting for Asus gtx670 for a couple weeks and am sick of waiting. I've needed a GPU upgrade on one of my rigs for a while now and I'm going to just order a DCII 7870 (or maybe 7850). $150 cheaper and will just mean I have to turn the settings down on most games. If I could pre-order a gtx670 dcII, even with a the date 6 weeks in the future, I'd do it... can't stand not knowing if it's going to be weeks or months though. It's difficult to want high-end, very quiet, air cooled.

Why take such a performance drop? Is there no dcii 7950? Or do you need a dual slot. I would consider the wind force as well.

My top OC (totally game stable, occasional very small artifact on Heaven) is 1367/3500 @ 1.175V on my Windforce.

I'm also completely enamored with how it looks from the side, through the window of my case. Maybe if my case was strongly lit up inside (I just have UV tubes), I maybe wouldn't like it as much cause of the blue but unless you have strong lighting it's not even noticeable that it's blue. Mine is actually a very deep, rich-looking blue as well ... not that bad looking, honestly.

But the cooler and the GB logo from the side ... honestly I think the card really looks slick and classy. Not biased either tongue.gif

I surely wouldn't shy away from one of these cards based on aesthetics. Sure the DCII looks a bit nicer but they're impossible to get, and I'm sure there will be backplates that'll fit the GB card and look just as sweet.

670 to a 7870 or 50?? NO!!!!

That's a lot of dough to drop when for a few bucks more you can get a much better experience from a 670! Just wait a week or two dude!

I think it's actually quite strange that you cannot even pre-order the card over there. Here in the Netherlands I can pre-order the DirectCU II TOP 670 in 9 different web-shops. Why is this such a difficult thing in the US?

While waiting for mine I'm actually starting to doubt purchasing it a little bit. For instance, I can read over here that it's not that much improvement coming from two 5850's. What do you gentlemen think?

I'm currently upgrading from CF 5850's at 900/1200 to a 670 and i think its worth it. I get so much micro-stutter on the 5850's it drives me crazy. I might be getting good frame rates but it feels like crap. And then you have the terrible CF support in a lot of the newer games like skyrim and guildwars 2 which i won't have to deal with anymore. They're also loud as hell and use twice the power. At higher resolutions the 1gb VRAM on the 5850's just isn't enough. Even games like skyrim and gta with mods use over 1.5gb VRAM at 1080p. So i definitely think the upgrade is worth it. Especially considering i sold both of my 5850's for $265 so the 670 is only really $135 more.

Edit: Also, that guy's 670 is at a weak overclock, if he was at 1300+ the 670 would be doing much better in those comparisons. He's only at 1202MHz which is on the VERY low end of the overclock range for the 670.

Here's where all the Asus Top and non-Top ended up at, and it's not even running out in stock. F Asus! http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-280-AS&groupid=701&catid=1914&subcat=2294
