If your airflow is decent, it's rare to see the fans pass 50% fan speed under typical usage. With my fan profile I had it running near-silently yet not surpassing 60C in BF3 (GTX 680 WindForce). That was back when I had my 550D with every fan mount utilized, though. Quiet fans, but many regardless.
Also, ideally you should keep your GTX 670 under 70C, at the very least 80C. Those are very much within the range of what the GPU can handle, which is closer to 95-100C, but slipping past 70C may limit the amount your card will boost. Not significantly, but slightly.
Thanks to the airflow from the bottom fans in the RV03, orientation is a non-issue as far as I'm concerned. I don't care for that case, myself, as I think its layout is ugly and wrong, but many people love it

the orientation is an issue because some heatpipes don't work well in this case because they are fighting gravity.
since brettjv has been getting good temps, i'm assuming gigabyte did not skimp on their heatpipes and most likely used sintered wick.
just would like to verify before i buy, as i've had problems in the past with gpu coolers and this case(asus dcu)

My temps approached 70C when I did not use the side or top fan intake/exhaust, back when I had a Kuhler 620 in there. The top exhaust helps quite a bit.
