I only use IE anyway doesn't affect me, but I still don't agree with this. Clearly this will hinder sales o the new OS you would think? Then again not everybody reads software news before buying a PC.

I think we all sometimes forget how far ahead of the general pack we are in this industry, given how much one and research we put into it. Microsoft knows this.

to be honest i dont see the issue with IE anyway, nor have i ever felt the need to install an aftermarket browser for something as simple as internet browsing. i dont feel the need to add further clutter to a system.

I can sympathise with Microsoft. The only way they are ever able to break into markets that they don't control is to throw their weight around. Playing nice is why Microsoft has never had more than single digit market share for mobile devices.

No, I wouldn't be ok with it. But that does not matter. If they did do that, it would not be illegal. Why does Microsoft have to support their competitors products in it's own space? If I build my own store space, do I need to sell all of my competitors products in my store? So why when I build my own OS would I need to? Duh.

Agree with you Jess - so many other companies do this it is not funny. And this is only on the ARM devices.

I don't see why microsoft have some type of responsibility to ensure profits for other companies continue to flow. I wish microsoft could integrate more things into the O/S (integrated burning tools/ISO tools/maintenance tools etc) but that would be unfair - right? Jeeze.

Microsoft doesn't need to support competitors, they just need to avoid locking them out. You don't need to sell your competitors' products in your store but you shouldn't ban your customers from bringing those products into your store.
