New Mid-tower ATX case?

Thread Starter
Hey everyone, I'm looking for a smaller mid-tower sized ATX case for my brother. Currently I have my eye on the Thermaltake Commander since it's on sale at Microcenter for $37.99 after MIR (http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0365239)

I'm wondering if you all have any cases you recommend near this price range?

PS: I'm trying to make a black/red color scheme for my build; LED fans of different colors aren't a big deal since they can be replaced, but I'm definitely not in the mood to repaint a case or replace built-in LED light strips tongue.gif

Ah, I should've mentioned that I'm aiming for a black/red build. Stock fans with LEDs of other colors aren't a big deal since I can replace them, but when the case has integrated LEDs or paint jobs that are blue, it makes it more difficult to stay consistent with one color scheme

Thanks for the recommendations though, keep 'em coming!

Here are some suggestions:

--> Rosewill RedBone- Seems to be similar to the commander case you are looking at and in the price range, with a few more red accents and a black interior

-->CM Elite 311 Red- Can't go wrong with Cooler Master, but it doesn't have a black interior
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119249

-->Rosewill Ranger- Would do quite well for a black/red build, but the total comes to $65

-->Bitfenix cases might be worth checking out, as they offer nice features for the price:

Hope this helps! thumb.gifthumb.gif

Just saw this on sale on Newegg and I thought about this thread. This is worth a look, $55 after $10 rebate, a popular case on here thumb.gif

Haha funny you mention the Scout, that was the first case I used for my first complete custom build (which I sold to fund my current sig rig). Only downside was that the hard drive tray wasn't removable, and having all those optical drive spaces was completely overkill for an ATX board, one graphics card, one optical drive, and one SSD tongue.gif

Heh I considered this case too once upon a time, but my concern with the Fractal is that it looks like there is no room for cable management, even with a modular PSU

Yeah, the Core 1000 has very little cable management =\ But the other FD cases do have decent management thumb.gif
