How Many Radiators? - Page 3

Take a look at CM 120mm R4 fans with a 140 x 120 fan shroud, it is way quieter and flows slightly more air. They work well, I am using them on my Monsta 420 x 110mm thick rad that cools my 3770k and 2- 400 watt Qmax Tec`s. Best of luck with your build.

I would recommend the XSPC EX420 if you want a high performance 420 rad that won't give you a bunch of trouble trying to fit in push pull. If you are absolutely certain that you want a thick rad, the Alphacool NEXXOS UT60 420 is phenomenal, probably the best radiator available.

The best 140mm rad fans I have seen are the Bgears Blasters 140mm 1800rpm, and I have 6 of them for push-pull on the EX420. I would suggest going with the slimmer but still excellent performance EX420 up top (to save you from cutting out a lot of bits of the case), and sticking a thick 240 rad in the bottom, such as the Alphacool NeXXos UT60 240 in bottom with push pull fans (or the Black Ice Extreme). You are not losing anything in cooling ability, and you will have much less difficulty fitting them in.

Akasa Apache and Viper 140mm fans are very good, not quite as good as the Bgears IMO, but I don't know if the difference is really all that noticeable. I personally went with the EX420 with 6x Bgears Blasters 140mm, and an Alphacool NeXXos UT60 240 with 4x Koolance 120x25mm 2800rpm Fans. This combination is enough to cool any setup very well outside of tri-SLI or quad-SLI setups.

IT Diva did a build with the GTX 420 rad up top, and it seems like she had a lot of difficulty/spent a lot of time modding it to fit properly. She would be an excellent person to ask if you are set on the thicker rad.
