Switcing to AMD

Thread Starter
I'm upgrading my Intel P4 to a AMD 64 x2 4800 939 socket. I found a gigabyte motherboard (K8U-939 ) that still supports my DDR400 and agp card. I just did a clean install of Windows xp and all my drivers on the P4 setup. When I swap out the MB's can I just hook up my harddrive or do I have to reformat it?

Thanks, I guess i have to reformat again. I would love to swith to pci-e but I don't have the funds right now. I actually damaged my P4 so I decided to make the switch to AMD dual core and this was the cheapest way to do it for now.
