It seems we all agree, the E6300 will beat the others. Show your dad the math, 1860mhz * 12 ops / 6 ops = 3720mhz in the old P4 or PD standard's.

Yeah what he said... Point out to your dad that although it's clocked lower it does a lot more with every clock cycle because it's been completely reengineered from those P4 architectures. It's also virtually guaranteed to run in excess of 3 GHz as well....

Its not only the ops per cycle that make Conroe faster its the whole achitecture. The performance difference can't be broken down into nearly that simply of an equation.
