PowerColor 6970 Overclocking help..

Thread Starter
I have a PowerColor HD 6970 and i just realize that its running on 1.17v? isn't that high for a stock clocks?

And just now i tried overclocking it to 900/1400 mhz without changing the VOLTAGE because i dunno how to change it, oh and i used CCC only.

So how do i determine if my overclock is stable and how do i determine if something is wrong?

I have 3DMark11, AquaMark3, Heaven here.

Thanks in advance. ~GTB

I think that stock for 6970s is 1.175 could be wrong. my sapphire is 1.175 I was able to get it to 950/1450 on stock voltages. biggrin.gif

You can change the clocks under CCC->Performance->AMD Overdrive or you can dl MSI AFterburner.
You can test by running benchmarks or Furmark and checking the screen for issues(forgot the term for them). If there are issues either lower the clocks or up the voltage. GL smile.gifthumb.gif

Who told you this? my crossfire setup using 6970s' has no issues with MSI afterburner, and both cards are clocked at 950Mhz, with stock voltages. I've had no Artifacts/Driver issues and no real heat problems with custom fan settings (which i set up in afterburner).
