i was originally holding out for 680's to come back in stock, but i am tired of waiting. so i decided to pull the trigger. anybody else decided to get themselves in on the action? can't wait till it gets here, now just to decide on a new monitor to go with it.

i wen't with evga and plan to step up if i am not happy with the results of the 670. i just couldn't take the waiting any longer. i am not a very patient person when it comes to new gadgets to play with, it drives the wife nuts.
Waiting for new tech is a losing game. Something new is always going to come out as soon as you buy something, so if you have the money it's worth how much enjoyment you will get out of it.
a gtx 680/670 isnt massively better than my gtx 570, but a gtx 685 is considerably better than gtx 680 so worth it in my opinion. A gtx 570 upgrade to gtx 680 isnt worth what they cost here in UK (£400+)
How do you know? I thought nothing was known about the 685 except some specs, and even if transistors are doubled, most of the added ones are supposed to go to improving compute performance.
I ordered my EVGA stock model at lunch yesterday. Arrives monday. Plan to watercool it, so it will be awhile before it gets installed (no blocks yet) - waah!
Really hoping it cuts down on the superheating of my room by my GTX 480 (no AC here and summer is coming).
