As long as you can complete the 3d mark tests and run artifact free for 10 minutes, keep upping each clock. Once you either get artifacts or until the temps get in the 80's. At this point your about maxed.
did you make it to 640/850ish with or without the v mod because without the vmod thats amazing, im only pushing like 655/819 here

Yes, I got 640/850 before the v-mod.

After a couple of sessions of shading with a pencil I got my clocks up to where they are now. Funny thing, I can actually push my clocks higher, but my 3dmark scores go down.

Is your memory maxed at 819? Sometimes you can reduce on clock to gain a little more on the other. I would try that, but only after you start getting artifacts.

I was finally able to overclock my 7600GT to a respectable 650/850 without the v-mod. The highest temp I got with ATITool was 65C, so I decided not to push it any further because I don't want to buy a GPU cooler. These cards do overclock very well, even though they were overclocked to begin with

recently bought this card. Looking into overclocking it as well.

im a bit of a n00b as well. What exactly does the pencil shading do? I've never heard of anything like it. It's quite a shock that something as simple as a #2 pencil can up the performance of your card

The graphite in the pencil lowers the resistance in the 2 areas that are being shaded. This in turns provides more voltage to the memory and to the core. With more voltage you get the ability to OC your card further. The pencil mod is super easy to do, and if your card acts up afterward you can simply wipe off the graphite and everything will go back to stock.

I saw my clocks take a huge leap after the pencil mod. My 3mark also went up about 1200 points as well.

Give it a shot... You'll be pleased with the results

Compare the back of the circuit board with the pic I posted earlier in this thread about the spots to mod. If your board matches up.... mod it!

Not sure about the size of the 3dmark packages ,but you should have your own answer by now on that one.

Here is my 3dmark05 score.
